What it does
Your stop rules, checked every day
Set a daily loss limit, a profit target, a maximum number of trades and losses in a row. The dashboard shows where you stand against each one before you open the next trade.
The numbers that matter
Win rate, profit factor, average win and loss, max drawdown and your discipline streak, for options and for margin and forex trades, in rand or your account currency.
A diary next to the trades
Write a note for each day and each trade, add screenshots, and look back at what you were thinking when it went wrong.
Bring your history
Import a CSV from MetaTrader 4 or 5, Exness, cTrader, Deriv or Binance Futures. You see a preview first, and importing the same file twice adds nothing.
Make it look the way you like
18 themes, from Dark Roast espresso to a pixel arcade, each with its own moving background and a light and a dark version. Five are free. Pro adds the rest.

Questions
Do I need an account?
No. The free plan works straight away in your browser and keeps your journal on that device. You only sign in with Google for the Pro trial or Pro, which syncs your journal to the cloud.
Does it connect to my broker?
No. You log trades yourself or import a CSV export from your broker. Plimsoll Journal never sees your broker login or your money.
Will it tell me what to trade?
No. It's a journal. It shows your own numbers and checks your own rules. It's not financial advice.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. Open it in your phone's browser and add it to your home screen. It works offline too.
What happens when the Pro trial ends?
Your trades stay. Only the Pro extras lock, and the trial isn't offered again on that Google account.
Who makes it
Plimsoll Journal is made by Jaun at BeanByte Studio in Gauteng, South Africa. I blew accounts early on by chasing trades and ignoring my own rules. This is the journal I needed then. I design and test it myself, with help from AI tools. Read the story on the studio site.
The name comes from the Plimsoll line, the mark on a ship's hull that shows how much it can safely carry. Your stop rules do the same job for your account.
